Description

Shakshuka features poached eggs cooked in a spiced tomato and pepper sauce. Serve with crusty bread to soak up the rich flavors.


Ingredients

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, sauté onion and bell pepper until soft.
  2. Add garlic, cumin, and paprika; cook for 1 minute.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Make wells in the sauce and crack eggs into each well.
  5. Cover and cook until eggs are set, about 5-7 minutes.
  6. Garnish with parsley before serving.
